  • Statkraft halts investments in offshore wind

    (17.12.15) Statkraft has adjusted its investment plan to the increase of dividend by NOK 5 billion over the next three years, as decided in the Norwegian State budget process. The main changes are that Statkraft no longer will invest in new offshore wind projects and some international hydropower projects may be postponed.
     

  • Uptime signerer millionkontrakt med spansk verft

    (16.12.15) Uptime International har signert avtale med det spanske verftet Astilleros Gondan for levering av en bevegelseskompensert gangvei med trinnløs justerbar pidestall. Service fartøyet(SOV) er designet av Rolls Royce i tett samarbeid med Østensjø Rederi og verftet Astilleros Gondan.
     

  • Scatec solar completes 104 MW solar plant in Utah

    (15.12.15) INTPOW member Scatec Solar has now formally commissioned the 104 MW (dc) photovoltaic solar plant in Parowan, Utah. The Utah Red Hills Renewable Park (URHRP) is Utah's first utility-scale solar plant and will more than double the state's current solar footprint.  The plant was commissioned on schedule and constructed in less than a year.

  • Fred.Olsen Windcarrier launches "game-changer" for offshore O&M

    (20.11.15) Wind farms larger and further from shore have created the need for a new approach to operations and maintenance (O&M) and Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has developed what their UK General Manager believes will be a “game-changer” for the industry. David Matthews, Project Director for Fred. Olsen Windbase , has said that by marrying established technologies and services from within the Fred. Olsen related companies, they can create a fixed offshore facility that offers developers a way to reduce operating costs for the next generation of wind farms built further from shore.
     

  • Statkraft and BLP partner for distributed solar in India

    (05.11.15) INTPOW member Statkraft and Bharat Light & Power, a leading renewable energy company in India have announced the formation of a new 50-50 joint venture to provide distributed solar energy solutions in India.  
     

  • Statoil to build the world’s first floating wind farm: Hywind Scotland

    (05.11.15) Statoil has made the final investment decision to build the world’s first floating wind farm: The Hywind pilot park offshore Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
     

  • Scatec Solar and Norfund secures a 53 MW solar project in Honduras

    (29.10.15) Scatec Solar and Norfund have signed a share purchase agreement to acquire the 53 MW Los Prados solar project in Honduras.
     

  • Uptime International announcing new walk to work contracts

    (29.10.15) Uptime International has entered into three new contracts for motion compensated gangways during summertime. Two of the contracts are for purchase and one is for lease.  
     

  • Scatec Solar launches field activities in Egypt

    (27.10.15) While the Egyptian authorities engage in finalising contract documents related to the Renewable energy program, INTPOW member Scatec Solar has launched a series of activities on the ground to contribute to the timely construction of what surely will be one of the world's largest solar energy sites.

  • Powel Smart Energy signerer ny kontrakt med sveitsisk kraftprodusent

    (21.10.15) Sveitsiske Azienda Elettrica Ticinese (AET) og INTPOW medlemmet Powel AS har signert en avtale som vil gjøre det mulig for AET å optimere og planlegge hele sin vannkraftportefølje. AET sin produksjon er på 1,5 TWh per år.
     

  • Fred. Olsen Windcarrier wins Wikinger contract

    (25.09.15) INTPOW member Fred. Olsen Windcarrier International Ltd. has been awarded a contract with Adwen for the transport and installation of 70 units of Adwen 5 MW wind turbine generators for the Wikinger Offshore Wind Farm project located in the Baltic Sea within the German exclusive economic zone.

  • Statkraft opens Cheves HPP in Peru

    (16.09.15) On the 15th of September 2015, Statkraft opened Cheves hydropower plant in Peru. The power plant is Statkraft’s ninth in the country, and increases the company’s renewable energy generation in Peru to 2,500 GWh per year.
     

  • INTPOW-member Sunergy successfully provides solar power to the village of Bokosso

    (26.08.15) INTPOW-member Sunergy has successfully provided the village of Bokosso in Cameroon with electricity deriving from solar power.
     

  • INTPOW-member Statkraft has completed the acquisition of Brazilian Desenvix Energias Renovaveis SA

    (15.07.15) Statkraft AS has completed the acquisition of the  Brazilian hydropower  firm Desenvix Energias Renovaveis SA. Statkraft bought all the shares of Jackson Group in Desenvix and became the majority shareholder of the company with 81.31%.
     

  • INTPOW-member Scatec Solar to build first large scale solar power plant in West Africa

    (13.07.15) An historic agreement to Build-Own-and Operate West Africa's first utility-scale solar power plant has been signed by Norwegian company Scatec Solar and its partners, the Malian Ministry of Energy and Water and Electricité du Mali (EDM), the electricity utility of Mali. To be located near the ancient city of Segou in South-East Mali, 240 kms from Bamako, the 33 MW solar project is being developed in partnership with IFC InfraVentures and the local developer Africa Power 1.
     

  • INTPOW-members Scatec Solar and Multiconsult write about the solar energy revolution in new report

    (09.07.15) Terje Osmundsen from Scatec Solar and Bjørn Throud from Multiconsult has written about the benefits of solar power in a new report published by the Norwegian Climate Foundation.
     

  • Scatec Solar and Nizam Energy to build close to USD 300 million solar power plants in Pakistan

    (08.07.15) INTPOW-member Scatec Solar together with Nizam Energy signed an agreement to jointly develop and Build-Own-and-Operate solar power plants in Pakistan. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Norwegian Prime Minister Ms. Erna Solberg and Prime Minister Mr. Sharif.

  • Fred. Olsen’s Universal Foundation in Danish offshore wind deal

    (21.04.15) New INTPOW member Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s offshore wind turbine foundation designer subsidiary, Universal Foundation (UF) is on the brink of a breakthrough deal off Denmark with a "large, well-known utility" to install a first batch of its so-called mono bucket bases topped with 6MW-plus class turbines.

  • Norconsult and Multiconsult in hydropower development in Myanmar

    (27.03.15) Norconsult has recently signed a new contract with the Norwegian Water and Energy Directorate (NVE), and will provide inhouse consultants work to the Ministry of Electric Power in Myanmar.
     

  • INTPOW member Havgul Clean Energy AS merges with Swedish Triventus Wind Power and forms Havgul Nordic AS

    (24.03.15) Norway’s Havgul Clean Energy AS and Sweden’s Triventus Wind Power will combine to create new entity with 1,554MW under development across Nordic region. 
     

  • SunErgy will provide electricity to 92 villages in Cameroon

    (09.03.15) INTPOW Member SunErgy has embarked on a project to provide electricity to some 350 000 people in 92 villages in Mbonge Sub Division of the Southwest Region in Cameroon.
     

  • INTPOW member Statkraft acquires majority stake in Chilean hydropower company

    (25.02.15) Statkraft has signed an agreement to buy a majority stake in the listed Chilean hydropower company Empresa Eléctrica Pilmaiquén S.A.
     

  • Statkraft increases its stake in the Brazilian hydropower industry

    (23.02.15) Statkraft will boost its stake in Brazilian power company Desenvix by acquiring 36.85 percent from Jackson Empreendimentos S.A, adding to its 44.45 percent ownership. Desenvix assets include shares in 10 hydropower plants, a wind farm and minority stakes in two transmission lines.
     

  • Statkraft and RWE Innogy form 50/50 partnership for Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm

    (20.02.15) In a strategic move, Statkraft has agreed to acquire 50% of the 900MW Triton Knoll offshore wind farm from RWE Innogy. The partnership is great news for Triton Knoll and the UK offshore wind industry, with the potential for a £3-£4bn investment and up to 1,900 UK jobs.
     

  • Statkraft and Statoil riding the wind in offshore wind

    (20.02.15) The Creyke Beck project at Dogger Bank in the North Sea received the first development consent for offshore wind energy on last Thursday – making it the largest renewable energy project ever to receive planning consent in the UK – and an exciting exercise for the two Norwegian developers that have just finalised Sheringham Shoal and is about to start construction at Dudgeon.
