Industry anticipates huge demand for technicians to service the thousands of turbines to be erected in the southern North Sea and beyond in the next decade. To help meet it, INTPOW member, AAK has formed a strategic partnership with UKs Blackrow Engineering
A plan to create a £250,000 training facility in Grimsby, UK – capable of equipping 1,500 wind technicians a year with vital skills to take offshore – has been revealed by Blackrow and AAK.
The cooperation between AAK AS and Blackcrow Engineering has come as a result of the two North Sea Offshore Wind Mission Business Exchanges that has taken place in 2011 and 2012, where INTPOW have contributed to create a valuable meeting place for Norwegian and UK based businesses within the offshore wind industry. The news of a training facility being completed in March next year proves that INTPOW`s work to facilitate cross border cooperation is important and works.
