AAK launches UK strategic partnership

14.06.13

During the RenewableUK Offshore Wind conference in Manchester this week, INTPOW member AAK launched their offshore wind activities in the UK with the first official appearance of 3C Humber, a strategic partnership between AAK AS and Blackrow Engineering to pioneer sector specific safe work at height training.  Prior to the conference, the newly established JV signed a MoU with Humber Chemical Focus to participate in the Catch training complex.

Leif Røv, director of business development at Norwegian AAK, said: "We have got to match it to the training, make it right according to the programme. It is an excellent facility to do it from."Mr Taylor added "We are talking about significant numbers. We want to capture the local and UK market, so it will be hundreds of people."
The partnership between AAK and Blackrow is a result of long term efforts by INTPOW, Windcluster Mid-Norway, Enterprise Europe Network and others to bring Norwegian and UK offshore wind companies together.
