Upgrade completed on the Binga HPP, Philippines.
04.09.13The 125.8 MW Binga plant 180 km north of Manila, Philippines has recently been undergoing upgrade.
In September 2013, the Philippines' Energy Regulatory Commission granted a certificate of compliance to SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet for the operation of the plants all four turbine units.
The upgrade increased the capacity of Binga's hydro turbines from 25 MW to 30 MW, and increased the lifespan of the plant by 50 years. Other work included constructing a new intake and headrace; replacing electro-mechanical components and modernising the plant's control systems.
SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet is owned by SN Power and Aboitiz Equity Ventures (50-50).
