Welcome to ICOLD 2015 in Stavanger

The ICOLD 25th Congress / ICOLD 83rd Annual Meeting will take place in Stavanger from 13 to 20 June. During these days, you will have the opportunity to experience an extensive and interesting scientific programme:

• ICOLD Congress
   

NNCOLD has joined forces with INTPOW member International Centre for Hydropower (ICH), so the Symposium, on 15/16 June, will be the 7th International Conference on Hydropower – Hydropower ’15. Topics will be:
•    Challenges in dam construction under challenging conditions  
•    Reservoir optimisation and design
•    Operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment
•    Innovative hydropower and dam projects in emerging economies
•    Project financing and contractual aspects
•    Industry-Academia cooperation
•    Managing risks in hydropower - Emergency preparedness and public safety
•    Climate challenges (environment, social aspects, floods, generation and dam safety)

The ICOLD Congress, on 17/18 June, will cover the following topics:
•    Innovation and utilisation of dams and reservoir
•    Spillways
•    Embankments and tailings dams
•    Upgrading and re-engineering of existing dams

A technical exhibition presenting achievements in the field of dam construction and management will be held from 15 to 19 June. Pre- and post-meeting study tours, shorter technical visits, and a full social cultural programme are planned for delegates and accompanying persons.
